In which The Donald makes his presence felt in The Suburban Sprawl [More:] I'm on my way home with my older son after celebrating my mom's 80th birthday in Buffalo. Yesterday my wife and younger son discovered someone had broken our dining room window. Bummer. It happened once before several years ago.

Tonight another window was broken. Mrs. Doohickie seems to think it may be intimidation courtesy of Heir Trump's fans. We have a Bernie sign in the front yard.

I won't be able to get home until tomorrow. This is pretty frustrating, to say the least.
Speaking as a Hillary supporter with her sign out front of our house, I send you solidarity and sympathy. Trumps supporters seem to be thugs a la the Brownshirts.

I had my car keyed and the trim ripped off in 2004 when I had a Kerry/Edwards bumper sticker on it and my son once got run off the road and threatened verbally by someone mad at the Obama sticker on his car.

Pretty amazing that we haven't even the right to support the candidate of our choice without becoming targets. Hugs to you and your family.

At my weekend (retail) job, only one other person knows my political thoughts because I don't want to jeopardize my job..... as part of initial job training we are shown a video about how wonderfully the Company treats workers and how awful unions are (and how to report anyone coming around trying to drum up union sympathy.)

Goodness. Do you perchance work for a large store that rhymes with Schlenards?

I'm hoping that if Trump is endorsed as the Republican candidate, he will fall apart during the debates with the other candidate(s). He has no actual policies (apart from, it seems, banning Muslims from everything and building a wall that Mexico will be made to pay for). So it'll be interesting, to say the least, to hear him explain his policies on, say, health, education, foreign affairs, international trade, humanitarian issues, on the same platform as the other candidates.

Meanwhile, the UK watches, aghast.

Madamina, (I work for a similar company- but hear that all the home improvement companies are the same. Don't know about other types of retail.)

My worry is that even if the trumpet blows apart, the bandwagon will keep on loving his tune and follow along, just like folks loved the palin pablum.

Jeez, times like this I feel lucky to live in my overpriced NYC bubble. Sorry for those of you that you are dealing with all this scary intimidation and vandalism.

Teddy Roosevelt's Progressive party didn't form until the summer of 1912. I wonder if moderate republicans will do the same this year.

Scary stuff-- Earlier this week I found myself behind an SUV with two prominent TRUMP bumperstickers on the rear windows and, while I'm a huge supporter of free speech, I admit I was a bit aghast at the nerve (stupidity) it took to drive through the BRONX with that, and a bit gleeful, admittedly, at what might happen to that vehicle should the driver choose to park it somewhere.

(By the way, Doohickie, you might want to invest in some outdoor security cameras. Our old landlord had some vandalism problems and I suggested cameras and he put them up and didn't have anymore problems. I think it's pretty inexpensive these days-- just a thought.)

The scary thing is, I think his supporters will get worse no matter if he wins or loses. If he wins, they're feel even more empowered to attack others. If he loses, they'll go apeshit with anger and lash-out.

However the rest of the year goes, this crap is only going to get worse.
