02 November 2014

How's your weather?? We may possibly make it to freezing tonight.!! [More:]
This will be an early start on cold weather for us in Coastal Carolina.

I made soup this week: my first autumn concession. This morning I also finally gave in and brought the tender plants inside and turned on the heat.

I'm craving breads and pies.

Is it too late to gather nuts and line my den with warm fluff?
Snow this morning! Didn't stick.

Here in SLO-town we broke a 188-day rainless spell with a full inch of rain on Halloween Night. Much needed but crappy timing. Since then, we've had the first couple nights to drop into the low 40s(F), but the forecast is for warming up to High:85/Low:55 by Wednesday with no further rain in the "10-day". If this is a harbinger of things to come, I expect our biggest winter storms on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, MLK Day, Valentines, President's Day, Easter and any other holidays acknowledged by the US Government or Hallmark.

About 4 inches of snow yesterday in central Maine. I couldn't put the car in the garage because I haven't cleaned up from the summer yet and there's no room. Nasty pain to clean it off this morning.

I don't even have my snow tires on yet! *sigh*

We are in mightshould's neck of the woods, and we also got a freeze last night. It's chilly but sunny this morning in Chapel Hill. We won't see snow until January most likely, if we see it at all.

Grey and 56 degrees Farenheit, rain falling and more expected as another storm moves into our region from the never peaceful Pacific.

Halloween was fabulous, the warmest on record. But since Sunday we've had rain, with more due for the rest of the week. Not too cold though.

Hot. Dry. Last year, October was the driest ever, with 13mm of rain. Rainfall in October this year? 1mm.

Cold, steely gray, rainy. Basically a standard November in Western PA.

Sunny and 21°C/70°F. There's been a pretty stiff SW breeze all day due to a typhoon well east of us, over the Pacific, the tail of which might give us a little rain tomorrow morning.

Nice weather for my new blue jeans.
