I used to be a fairly regular here and a more regular on irc.

We bought a house and moved into it about a year ago. It was and still is a fixer-upper. We had a trial garden last year and are working on a serious one this year. I started too early on some things, but now I know better and we have a lot of seeds to start over.

My son is 17 as of yesterday and my daughter will be 16 soon. They are really good kids, but it's still nerve-wracking in a healthy way.

My work is excellent. Interesting, good boss, fabulous coworkers, not too stressful, the pay is ok. My husband's work is good, too.

I just wanted to let folks know that I do check in here some still, but have just been overwhelmed this past year. I do care and miss folks.

I have been very lucky and, even though it hasn't felt like it sometimes (because, damn, living in a house is progress can be a stress... also, teenagers) for the past year, I just want to acknowledge it publicly somewhere. I've had hard really times before and I'm grateful for what I have now.

The encouragement of you all has been a big help for all of that.

Anyway, things are evening out and I hope to be a part of the community again.
