Facebook notifications gone wild? Has anyone else started getting tons of Facebook notifications out of the blue?→[More:]The notifications icon in the mobile FB page (not the app) on iOS is suddenly showing me a bunch of nonsense it hasn't been showing me before. I changed my preferences to turn it off, now it's showing me NEW stuff (Huffington Post, Reason Magazine now). Anyone else noticed this? It used to be that I'd only get notified if someone accepted a friend request or commented on a post I'd also commented on, stuff like that.

well, here's the latest email notification I got from Facebook and it's 100% accurate...

Hi Craig,
We have received a request to permanently delete your account. Your account has been deactivated from the site and will be permanently deleted within 14 days.

I'm working toward getting my internet presence down to something manageable, and have mostly avoided using Facebook because of that. And I've been leaning toward nuking the account for a while, but this tipped the scales for me.

Anything the Koch Bastards consider a 'valuable social asset' is something I want nothing to do with.

I haven't experienced that, jayder, but I use Facebook only on my laptop or through the iPhone app. I always seem to be a few days behind everyone else when they roll out new "features," though.
