Dear Uncle Sam, I have to file an extension this year, because...→[More:]
- this is our new(ish) kitten, Justin. He is nine months old and apparently holds us no grudges for getting him fixed last week. He's a sweet little guy :)
oh and in case anyone is curious (several folks on FB asked my husband when he posted this; that's his reflection in the iMac) - the yellow thing on the wall in the background is a bona fide and "proper" Lion of Flanders flag that we picked up at a big bike race in Belgium; it is associated with all sorts of Europro bike racing nerdery.
Maybe kitteh is available to do my taxes? I'm being very lazy and filing mine late. Turns out there's no penalty if you're owed a refund, which we are for both federal and state (more for federal), so yay, procrastination! (I guess the government's happy to keep your money a little longer, if you like). In my research, I found out apparently there's almost a billion dollars from 2009 unclaimed, and today's the deadline (it seems you get three years to claim a refund).
awesome, Pips! we actually did end up having to file an extension because I am Remiss and Lazy and also my husband's work is Silly and Disorganized, so the combo of me forgetting to change my deductions to joint, plus we did a bunch of financial shit related to remodeling the house, plus the mister's work b0rking up his reporting, means he may just throw up his hands and hire an accountant this go :P
Here is a bonus shot of Justin being impossibly cute (he loves those little toy feather mice).
I missed having a kitteh for the many years I was itinerant and moving about every 6-12 months, or had allergic partners and such, but I somehow managed to befriend lots of cats by proxy :) Kitty sitting for friends and neighbors was always a good outlet.
I'm having a bit of a kitty renaissance with mine. She's just so damn cute. A well formed kitty just hits come kind of cuteness sweet spot with me, always has.
When I was four I asked to take home a kitty toy resembling a real cat home from school on the weekends, and when school ended for the year, the nuns let me keep it.
My older sister, of course, promptly destroyed it.
