My father was born on the 100th anniversary of Poe's death. He claims I was named for the cognac the Poe toaster drank. My mother denies this.

I grew up near Richmond, Virginia, home of the Poe Museum, and well remember the story of the stolen Poe bust, which turned up in a seedy bar about 5 miles from my house.
