23 December 2012

Early present I couldn't wait, so I gave the kitties that rule my life their present early. [More:]
A peacock feather! The 15 y.o. guy played like a kitten and is now sleeping it off.

Anyone else have gifts they couldn't wait to open?
I've been patient! Even the dog's sorely needed new collar is waiting for Christmas morning.

Shhh! Nobody knows about my transgression except me and the internets. Besides, it's dang impossible to wrap a three foot long feather.

Also, in pet years it's already past time. But, good on you for resisting.

I bought my dog a new collar, but honestly, she's going to need a bath before I put it on her. Unseasonably warm and dry weather has made her look like Pigpen from "Peanuts". So she'll probably have to wait until several days after Xmas for her gift. Sorry, boogs.

I gave The Fella a long-coveted video (Ken Burns' "Baseball") when I walked into the room to discover him watching one of the episodes on tv. He lamented having missed the first few, so I broke out his box set, which I have had stashed away since October.

(Which means his remaining presents are tiny and goofy. I hope he likes 'em!)

I gave my kitty a different brand of treats (Greenies skin and fur) and they make his poop smell especially bad, so he's not going to get any more of them. I'll just give him some more of his little shrimp treats.

No, but our kitty decided to give us early presents instead. He puked his food in three different places in the middle of the night.

The little ingrate will just have to wait til Christmas morning for the pressed/molded catnip mice Santa is bringing him.

Well, my husband chipped in an obscene amount of money so I could buy my super duper new long lens before Xmas. And I couldn't wait to give him his snazzy new earbuds, because I wanted him to have them for an early December trip he took. Plus he has seen the scarf I knit (so he could OK the length, he hates too long scarves) and the matching hat I am frantically trying to finish for Xmas.

So, uh, we haven't been so great about being patient about Xmas gifts this year. Oh well.

Lucy got her Christmas dinner of fish mush early, but that's because she saw it in the fridge and wouldn't stop meowing until she got some. It's her favourite food, this frozen block of fish slurry. As I came home stinking of dog tonight, it was the least I could do and there's plenty left for her to eat over the next few days.
