Tea Sandwiches Need suggestions for tea sandwich fillings for a work party tomorrow. [More:]It's an English tea theme, so this fits. Caveats are: I dislike the "salads" (ham, egg, chicken) so would rather not use those as fillings. Also, no salmon as someone else is bringing smoked salmon.
Some lovely ideas for you here.

I was going to suggest cucumber, because it's the classic tea sandwich, and I see that the bearwife's link has several suggestions involving cukes. Yum!

I saw that you got lots of delicious suggestions on FB, and I hope you'll tell us what you ended up making! Tea sandwiches are so yummy and such a nice, easy party food --- I really should make them more!

if you could get your hands on some clotted cream and scones I would happily just eat that.

fig spread is acceptable as a sandwich despite being basically jam. YOu could add something to it but a serious, chunky fig spread is pretty fine on it's own.

Butter and watercress is the classic one. Also anchovies and lemon butter. Believe it or not, aspagagus and herb butter as well.

Oops, better check before posting when Bearwife is around. ;-)
