December Musical Gifstravaganza, Day 11 We have already had one of these songs posted but this is one of my favorite albums of all time.→[More:] Vince Guaraldi's soundtrack for A Charlie Brown Christmas.

I was sad to learn Schulz didn't like jazz but happy to learn he come to love the soundtrack.

Awesome! This is my favorite Christmas soundtrack, and this is the only Christmas special I will watch. We own the DVD, and my wife and I watch this every Christmas eve late at night. I had no idea that Schulz hated Jazz, and I was actually under the impression he liked it. That 10 things about it is interesting.

One of the things that almost killed the special, is one of the main reasons I still like this today, that it actually talks about what Christmas is all about: the birth of a child. I'm not a religious person at all, but that's the thing that I hate which gets lost in all the hoopla surrounding Christmas. It may be because of this special that I have my attitude about Christmas and it's brash commercialism.

Thanks eek.

This and A Christmas Story are the only two Christmas shows to show up in our home (OK Spartacus sometimes). "Linus' 'True Meaning of Christmas' speech" is the bit that always stuck with me. I am an atheist but that passage from the KJV is one of the most beautiful things ever written and I never miss a chance to recite it each year.

Nothing more to add to the praise for this album, except just that I love Skating, and that Guaraldi's Thanksgiving music is equally good.
