I have a new favorite character/small-time actor: Reg Rogers, thanks to The Closer episode "Fool's Gold". [More:]
We're just getting around to watching the second half of season seven. I'm not sure if I want to find Reg's other appearances, or savor his weird presentation in this episode. It was like a wacky faux-French actor, playing a non-French person.
I looked over his IMDB credits for something I might directly recognize him from and found...

Touched by an Angel (TV series)
episode "Beautiful Dreamer" (1998) … John Wilkes Booth

That's a WTF? credit... it also had David Selby as Lincoln... and Gene Pack as "Ford"... now I'm completely confused.

He also did a three episode run on "Friends" as "The Director" which thanks to IMDB's "Watch on TV" feature, I know will be rerun on TBS starting Wednesday at 5PM. Set your DVR? I don't know if I would ever want "Friends" on my DVR, let alone "Touched by an Angel"...

He also was on Law & Order three times as three different characters years apart, but then, who HASN'T?

I'm a couple episodes in to season 1 of the Closer. So far it's just okay. Is it one of those shows where it really starts to shine in a later season?

I started watching after Brenda got married, and I was hooked right away. I do vaguely recall seeing part of an earlier season's episode and not understanding why the show was so popular, so it may be that it strengthened with time.

I sure am sorry to see it go. Has anyone been watching Major Crimes? Is it any good? I can't imagine this show without Brenda, her clothes, the cat, the candy, or the confessions.

I've been tempted to track down his other appearances, because I REALLY liked his performance. Then again I'm a sucker for the weirdos who play wacky, eccentric roles.

Regarding Major Crimes, we're slowly getting through the end of The Closer first, now that we're settled down in New Mexico (sorry oneswellfoop, we didn't have a final meet-up, but we'll be back to visit).

flt, you took a wrong turn at Pismo Beach and now you're IN Albequerque?!?

You could have at least willed your Sunday Morning radio show to me before this act of cultural suicide...
