No Golden Globes thread? [More:] I've missed a bunch but caught a bit of weirdness here and there. They just made Hollywood's cutest couple sing, Buffy let her two year old pick her dress, and somehow Kelsey Grammer won something?
Dinklage won something, though, and Downton Abbey, for the first season I hope.
I think I have missed seeing everybody and not seen barely any of the stuff nominated.
Ah, yes. Catching up.

Aw, Thomas Jane wore a pimp hat. "Joey" got nominated for something. I am so confused.
And why does Bradley Cooper being bilingual make him seem infinitely more attractive?
Aw, Octavia won and looks adorable. Helen Mirren and George Clooney are schmoozing. It always looks so much chummier and more comfortable than other awards, but that could be the booze.

Best dress so far.

ugh, that's the best dress so far? I mean, it's fine, but it's not very exciting.

I don't know about the fashions, but I've gotten to see Helen Mirren and Damian Lewis tonight, and that makes me happy.

Mireille Enos being up for the Killing is proof that this is a flawed universe.

Joey and Kelsey Grammer? Ethylene, are you sure you haven't time-traveled to the past?

I'm not very thrilled by the dresses so far. Could be me, probably is.
Has anyone seen the Killing or Homeland?
I keep hearing good things about Homeland.
See, that Angelina dress is not doing anything for me.
Martin? Hugo? Hmm.

I can't believe little Amy from "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" is a real actress now! Good for her.

I know, weird, right?

I mean to deborah. I had to look up who that girl was.

Ahem.

I tuned out briefly after the Tina Fey photobomb. (The worst of Internet Culture IS taking over, sigh). I've heard Peter Dinklage got an acting award and in his acceptance speech, dedicated it to another short actor who was critically injured in a "dwarf tossing incident"... seriously. And "Tintin" won Best Animated Feature, which is not surprising from the Hollywood Foreign Press who have more history with the character than the Oscar voters... And dresses? I didn't even notice the dresses? I guess I am now fully asexual. (I also was deeply disinterested in the NFL playoffs, as I was playing with my new cable tuner - DVR - PictureInPicture - 57 buttons on the remote! - during all the games)

Ooh, Tilda Swinton looks great.
I love Meryl but I don't know if I can watch a movie about Thatcher.
I was waiting to hear who it was he mentioned.

Now I had to look it up since you made it sound like voluntary dwarf tossing.

Here's a slideshow with a lot of red carpet coverage. It only confirms my dislike of fishtail dresses especially crossed with 1980s style shoulders (I'm looking at you Kelly Osbourne!). I also want to know wtf was up with Tilda's hair.

I thought Tina Fey's dress was cute, up until I tried to count the number of Muppets that were skinned to make it. Then I felt sad.

I liked Nicole Kidman's dress and Madonna's. The rest were kind of blah. Ricky Gervais's joke about the Queen of Pop and how he didn't mean Elton John was funny, but he was way toned down from last year otherwise.

I saw The Artist yesterday, it was great.

I cannot find the translations of what Antoni Banderas and Sofia Vergara said. It's probably not all that funny or wonderful but I thought someone would be on it by now.
