Mecha cards! i could post about so many things, and probably will in this thread, but i love the mecha cards i have gotten so far![More:] as gaspode so aptly noted, i have been short on time, so short i am not correcting my lowercase i's, but i love the cards I have gotten so far! I have a variety to choose from as i stocked up just in case, so if you are at last year's addresses and not on this year's list, watch out. I love gaspode's perfectly bunny themed winter cards and boringpostcard's perfectly apt holiday cards, and joec's festive traditional cards (I have you in my my autofill and it confused me forever1) and you will all be getting an assortment of cards in my arsenal! Send me addresses and you will get card! it's In my profile! I stocked up! I never use exclamations! i have had wine!
Gah! Typos! Still so much better than my students' grammar! Gah to that! Boy, do I have theories.

I'm going to get around to sending my cards, really I am....just maybe not before Christmas :D

Yay cards! I'm loving them, too- this has quickly become one of my favorite things about the holidays.

What are you doing in on a Friday night in New York?! I am procrastinating studying for finals and eating delicious holiday treats with wine.

It's Saturday night :) And I'm sick :(

i loved your card, BP! I am not a card person but i am so into this.

Yes, and I have been in a blur of booze and studying. And i have felt crappy but am denying actually being sick. Powering through!
William-Sonoma peppermint chocolate cookies are delicious. As are the Godiva strawberry parfaits and their chocolate almonds.
Also, big ups for tempranillo Spanish wine. Oh how I could go on.

Okay, so this guy in my last class made this comment about having an abortion if there was a chance if having a schizophrenic child, and it keeps bugging me. I am going to grab him before the final and implore him to get a vasectomy, because I think I you can't unconditionally love a child, you shouldn't have any. I really would tell them all to not breed. I'm so beyond caring if I offend them with my non-Christian liberal viewpoint. If the girl who thinks mental illness is caused by demons is offended, I don't care. If the homophobe who thinks GID has to do with sexual orientation, I don't care. Maybe losing my ultra-tolerant stance on things is a problem, but I no longer care about maintaining my reverential spiritual openness on things to provide counsel. Extreme racism and homophobia is often a sign of dementia or superparaphilic issues if not brain damage, and I find myself just wanting to ask, "What is wrong with you?" And I do. And mostly they don't know. It's the first time they have ever thought about it.
There is making this tremendous difference vs. dealing with this insistent level of ignorance.
Grr. Arg.

Yay! So glad you liked the bunny card, eth. I've been enjoying the cards too. And this is my first time posting to Metachat on my phone and it's freaking me out a little so I'll stop now.

I posted my cards yesterday, so hopefully they'll arrive before Christmas, but I also love the cards I've received so far, and I love getting them too.

Yes, it is nice to come home on a cold gloomy day and find a card in the mailbox. Brightens things up.

Well, now i feel bad about intending to use my thread to vent when it interferes with the pure joy of holiday cards.
I have at least four different kinds, in my weird sudden panic to stock up. People are free to send me their addresses if they want cards.
After finals this week, I should have the relative freedom to send away.

I have to buy postage! They're all addressed and ready to go, honest honest! I've gotten a couple already and they're delightful.

I have my cards addressed and stamped I just haven't written anything in them. You will get them before Christmas. Oh yeah, I am sending everyone a card even if you weren't in my group.

I'm waiting for the cards I ordered to get here. Stupid Canada Post.

I sent mine out Wednesday and I got my first Thursday (hi pode!) I wish I'd had the time and money to send to you all but I only did my group.

oooo. we've loved the cards we've received so far, I love the mecha card exchange! We sent ours out last week, a teeny bit late, but those in the US and Canada should definitely get them this week...a little dicier for those in other parts of the world :(

I've been loving the cards. And let me apologise for my unintelligible scrawl. I never learned how to write or even print neatly. Should have been a medical doctor.
posted by gaspode 19 December | 11:40
I could read your writing just fine. And MDs have no monopoly on scrawl, but Phds might.
I am warning you people, I usually aim for New Year's when I make cards and I'm missing Haunakkah and solstice already. I liked the late cards best last year because it made it seem like it could keep going on forever. So they are just dribbling out willy nilly.
Sometimes Lunar New Year.
You could get mailbombed at any time, now.
