Weekend plans in 3 points [More:]
1. Tonight I have a date! Hopefully better than the last one. This guy seems really nice. He's taking me to see Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall. So even if the date's not great (and it has to be an improvement on the last Neanderthal), the music will be good.

2. Tomorrow, gym in the morning (weights, PowerPlate, TRX) and then in the evening I'm going to the theatre with sueinnyc, to see Sharon Gless in "A Round-Heeled Woman". I loved the book, and Sharon Gless is great, so I'm hoping the two will meld together beautifully and that it'll be a great show. We're having dinner before the theatre at Sophie's Steak House, probably the £15.95 pre-theatre dinner menu.

3. Sunday, running with a friend from the running group, probably just 5 or 6 km, then after a soak in the jacuzzi at the gym, a trip to the supermarket, then in the afternoon I'll be wrapping up Christmas gifts to send to the States, laundry, housework.

So, what are you guys up to? Has anyone gone door-busting on Black Friday?
Good luck on your date!

1. I'm taking the girl I met through online dating to meet the parents this weekend for the first time.

2, 3. That's about it, but it's worrying me enough for another two points...

1. No shopping plans as anything I buy before Wednesday, I must either consume or pack up and ship.
2. I'm trying not to be a nervous wreck. I'm trying not to be a nervous wreck. All work makes Jack a nervous wreck.
3. Sookie plans to watch out the window.

1. No Black Friday shopping for me. *shudder*
2. If I can count Thursday into the weekend: went to the library. It's the first time in over a year, yay me. Fuck anxiety/agoraphobia.
3. I picked up six DVDs at the library and they will be watched over the weekend.

1. Pie for breakfast(!) and kiddo-Mama day today because her school is closed. Don't know what we will do this morning, but this afternoon we will go to Central Park zoo and then meet my husband for dinner.

2. No plans for Saturday

3. No plans for Sunday

1. BitterOldPunk arrives at our house today for a weekend visit- yay!

2. Weekend plans involve beer drinking, movie watching, video game playing. Also a trip to the art museum on Saturday, and on Sunday BOP and my partner Arn are going to the Falcons game.

3. No shopping plans this weekend.

1. I do have to go shopping today, but only to the (I think union) grocery store and to the local witchy shop (which is having a wonderful sale), where I'm also going to the divination share tonight, which will probably only be attended by myself and the person who runs it. I might also have to run over to Ashton to pick up leftovers and my mother's macaroni and cheese.

2. My mother wants to go to some churchy craft fairs on Saturday. I'm undecided about going because I should really do some schoolwork, but she does pay me.

3. Work on Sunday, including preparing for a visit from my boss' boss on Monday morning.

1. Post-Thanksgiving party with friends today.

2. Tomorrow, Egyptologist is taking me to the Met to geek out about Egyptian stuff. Only I'm not allowed to say "geek out" or any variation upon (or otherwise call it out) because she says she'll get self-conscious.

3. Sunday is a motorcycle ride and very possibly meeting up with one of the most specialest ladies in the world for lunch.

1. Supposed to be going out for the day with a friend tomorrow (we both have separate plans when we get to where we're going, but are going together in her car). Apathy is ruling, though, and I may bail.

2. Formulating a plan to lose 4kg as soon as possible. Hoping to do it in 4-8 weeks. Any tips, folks? I'll take anything. Have lost 10kg in the past year, mostly by eating less, but nothing in the last few months. My body seems to like being at this weight.

3. No plans at all for Sunday. Feels good.

1. No Black Friday here, unless we get sucked in by some online sale! I really don't do any shopping in person- we buy online and ship all gifts to Florida for Christmas Day. Plans for the day include lounging, brunching, and homework.
2. Saturday, more homework and waiting for Con Ed to read our gas meter.
3. Sunday, church and more homework.

1. Pie for breakfast!

2. Hoping I can persuade some friends to change our Saturday coffee-at-my-place to coffee-at-coffeehouse and maybe do some Local Business Saturday shopping. I do NOT feel like having people over (i.e., cleaning the bathroom).

3. Then an evening with my mother, whom I haven't seen for a coupla weeks. I pledge to keep cheerful and calm while I teach her some computer stuff.

1. The Black Friday madness is unnoticeable here in relatively rural England. I went to work today like any other Friday. I do not miss the stupid.
2. Tomorrow we're getting a babysitter and going over to Cambridge for Evensong and an organ recital.
3. This involves a babysitter and an absence of children for an evening. It's worth a bullet.

1. There were a few things I wanted for myself online at Amazon & JC Penny but I wanted to see if they went on sale. They did so I brought them yesterday. That is the sum of my mass consumerism this weekend.

2. I had a tasty dinner with my family and then I went to see my bff. The baby is way too adorable, crawls like he's in the WWII trenches and ended up falling asleep on me. Such a sweet baby.

3. The pups and I head home tonight, my main goal for the next two days is cleaning, and then I start the new job Monday (eek!).

1. Was gonna do a flash mob last night at a mall to protest, etc., but could not get out of the house. It was interesting to read all the texts this morning, esp. the one about "Police surrounding us, disperse and meet in adjacent park."

2. 6AM volleyball part of not going to #1. Got to stay late and get more tired, but two hours of doubles is a good workout.

3. Daughter here for one more hour then has to drive back home to Portland and go to work at the mall. Ugh. But a very nice Tgiving.

1. Jon's working Black Friday, poor fella (I've done it myself, and it's no fun), so hopefully he's not too battered and tattered when he comes home. Only shopping I may do this weekend's online (I need some snow boots).

2. It's such a pleasure to have this four-day weekend. My belly's not hurting me (fingers crossed) for the first time in a month (I've ben living on Advil). I think it's stress. I need to find a new (less ruthless/less insane) school to teach at next spring, during the Open Transfer period; I pledge to at least try. Tonight I'm making some baked tilapia with pesto and roasted potatoes. It's nice to have time (and energy) to cook.

3. Going to see my mom tomorrow. I plan to bring a pizza and we'll hang out at the nursing home and chat. I miss my mom. Then there's the usual, order groceries, prepare lessons, grade papers. I also plan on getting drunk and watching Big Lebowski somewhere in there.

1. Pie for breakfast!
2. More pie - there's four people in the family and seven pies in the fridge. I don't think we'll be starving
3. After four days off, I'm going back to the gym on Saturday to do more strength training.

1. Work on Friday morning, but I cut out early to attend my BFF's second child's 7th birthday. Had a wonderful time, as always with bits of drama.

2. Saturday, I support the Small Business Saturday event by shopping at my local favorite flea market. I found great stuff for a couple of people on my list! Then attended a 1st birthday party for the third son of the girl who used to babysit my kids. More great people, less drama!

3. Sunday is decorate the house for Christmas day! My youngest son is looking forward to helping me with the decorating (what he really wants is his collection of nutcrackers - he hijacks them into his room).

1. Buying nothing as a more or less pointless gesture, and also working the three shifts for which I am grateful in a practical sense.

2. Currently making a lovely stock for some lovely soup out of the turkey carcass Dad let me bring home. The house is redolent of eau de dinde.

2b. Oh dear God, was Thanksgiving ever a catastrophe this year.

3. Tomorrow will feature baking currant scones and watching the rest of pleasantly non-horrible-so-far BBC adaptation Scarlet and Black.
