With all due respect to Kermit and the Muppets, Gumby made it look easy being green. But Gumby made EVERYTHING look easy.
Art Clokey was one of several cool famous people who retired around here that I didn't know had retired around here until the news came out that he'd died "in his Morro Bay home". And there are obviously others (including my radio biz mentor when I was in college, who I haven't spoken to in 20 years). I should go door-to-door around there and ask "Are you a cool famous person"? Did I ever work for you?"
I loved Gumby and Pokey! I also liked Davey & Goliath. It never really seemed overly religious to me as a child, but that could have just been me being an oblivious kid.
