Has anyone ever used the live chat on bleepingcomputer.com? I've got some virus, but even the most updated program won't get rid of it...[More:]And I was thinking of asking a live computer person.

Symptoms:

1. Verrrrry slow in reaching a website. I type in, say www.boston.com, and sometimes the bottom of the screen says "waiting for somerandowadsite.com...", sometimes it does not, it just says "waiting for www.boston.com...", and takes a long time either way.

2. It seems to be hacking all of my malware detectors. If I try to run malwarebytes or Spybot search & destroy, it will crash those programs and PERMANENTLY disable them until I reinstall them (in safe mode only).

2a. In the case of Spybot, when I try to reinstall in the same directory, I get the message "Spybot.exe is marked as readonly, please disable this mode and try again." And I CANNOT get it to be not read-only. I tried resetting it both through Windows Properties and the command prompt, and got "Access Denied" with NO explanation. I can't even move it to the recycle bin. WTH?!

3. Having found out that Comcast subscribers can get Norton Antivirus for free, :) I tried downloading that, but when I tried to run it I got error messages, and it also disabled all internet access, so I had to uninstall it.

4. I currently have Malwarbytes running, and I'm constantly getting messages saying "Successfully blocked access to a potentially malicious site: [ISP]. Type: [both] incoming [AND] outgoing." This happens literally every minute on my computer.

5. This all started when I got a different malware yesterday, one that disabled all my programs and would only open up the Windows Security Center, telling me the only way to remove it was to pay for the full version. Luckily, I was able to remove this by downloading Malwarebytes in safe mode, and I can run my programs again. But, this annoying adware still seems to lurking around.

SO, if you know about bleepingcomputer.com or any other site, or have any other recommendations on how to get rid of this damn thing, I'd be so grateful! Thank you!
Try running Avira - this is free from http://www.avira.com/en/avira-free-antivirus. If running this from the hard drive doesn't work, try burning a copy of their Rescue CD (on another computer - doing this on an infected PC won't work). You boot with the Rescue CD and run this to remove the malware. The Rescue CD is located at http://www.avira.com/en/support-download-avira-antivir-rescue-system
.
I found Avira as this is the software that Malwarebytes recommend for removal of viruses that they have detected but not removed. Given the state of your PC, I would jump straight to burning a copy of their rescue CD and *then* install Avira to stop the software reinstalling itself ...

By the way, it sounds like you may have one of these two viruses:
Hijack This (see http://www.techish.net/2009/01/google-msn-yahoo-search-7-7-7-0-redirector-malware-hijack/ for a fix)
Fake AntiVirus Detector (See the bottom of http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-win-7-internet-security-2011 for a fix - but note that you have to install the programs on an external drive, such as a flash drive, for this to work).
Personally, I'd burn Avira's Rescue CD and run with that. It removed a pernicious hijack virus from my own PC.
