Gifts for new mom who had a c-section? [More:]Holla, mecha moms.
Is there anything that was really useful to you after you had a c section?
My friend just had her baby this way unexpectedly and I'd love to make her life a little easier by getting her a gift.

Before you say that I should get diapers or a cleaning service, she already had a baby shower so she has tons of clothes, books, diapers, creams etc for the kid.
And her parents live in the area and her husbands family is staying for a while so she already has people cooking and cleaning for her.

I was thinking something like a wrap-tie shirt might be useful so she doesn't have to pull it over her head and easy access for the baby, but I would love to hear if I am on the right track or if there is something else I should be getting her.
Thank you!
I was going to suggest housework. Hmph.

How about a mani-pedi appointment? A little pampering would probably be nice.

Definitely a spa day away from all those relatives.

Yeah feet - they've probably been a bit neglected and it will be hard for her to maintain them until she heals.

I've had two c sections. For the first few weeks I couldn't stand clothing that touched my lower abdomen, so a simple shift or sundress might be nice, depending on your price range.

The absolute *best* post c-section gadget I had was my rice bag. Seriously, there was something so good about putting warmth over a healing incision. And congratulations to your friend!

Yes TPS! She had a healthy little boy named Arthur.

Thanks for the tips, guys. I think a pedicure and rice bag sound right up her alley.

Breastfeeding is much harder after a C-section. Lactation specialists/consultants are kinda expensive and a lot of new mom's dont' feel they can justify the expense, but getting her one (within the week!) could make the difference in whether she can breastfeed or not.

Of course you'd have to ask first cuz this could feel like weird pressure.

Thanks, serazin, I will ask her if that would be helpful or not. Good idea

Watermelon, arugula, mint and feta salad. || Why aren't the magnetic fields on more karaoke lists I ask you?
