The wisdom of Craig Ferguson. [More:]I just saw his latest (I think) standup show, which was set in Nashville, Tennessee. Very cursy and amusing.

The part that hit home for me:

1. Does this need to be said?
2. Does this need to be said by me?
3. Does this need to be said by me right now?

This is going to become one of my new mantras.

Specifically, he was referring to the immediacy of the internet. I think it will have value in some in-person interactions that have been causing me some questions.
That's definitely recovery-speak there. I've learned a few little mantras like that in recovery to help me to exercise some impulse control.

Same as, "Think before you speak." Except in this case, it's "write".

We saw the first show of the tour a few weeks back. He is great fun. Did it open with the puppets singing "The Rainbow Fucking Connection"?

arse_hat, the show I saw was on Netflix and was from last year, I think.

Does Ferguson really ask himself those three things before doing what he does on his nightly show? Takes all the fun out of his monologues...

We watched that show on Netflix last week. Craigy looks hot and his performance is really funny. Loved it.
