Watson on Jeopardy watching? no DVR and can't find a Jeopardy torrent at ezrss →[More:]does anyone know if this will be on the NOVA site or anywhere? i have class tonight and weds night but REALLY REALLY want to see this.

i know it will be in snippets on youtube, but i'd like to be able to watch the whole thing.

we just got a new tv and it's not playing nicely with our existing dvd player that allows recording, so that is no longer the option i thought i had.

so while i'm trying to sort that out, i thought i'd see if there was a less aggravating way of watching this later.

We have a DVR, set to record this while we are out at V day dinner, but unsure how to translate that into something you could see . . . any suggestions? Would love to help, totally understand.

thanks - but i honestly have no idea how that would work.

i'm not too sure, but from my tiny bit of google knowledge, it appears that broadcasts have copy protection builtin, so the resultant recording on your DVR can only be played on the device. i'm sure that there are people who have figured out how to get around that (hence all the tv torrent sites) but i personally have no idea.

Ken Jennings said earlier today on his blog that "On Twitter, Watson (okay, his human handlers) have said that video will be posted on Watson’s website on Thursday, for those unable to watch one or more of the games live."

It's pretty weird to watch. The computers voice is interesting, it has character but still sounds like a computer. Very hard to watch without thinking of HAL (and Terminator).

thanks mefites! i'll look for the torrent again.

i didn't see ANY torrents for jeopardy for previous shows so i thought maybe it just wasn't available that way.

but i'm glad it will be on the web anyway from the watson/jeopardy folks.
