Cartwheels: Too eccentric for the office parking lot? [More:] Last night I did a few back bends and a split just to make sure I still could. The back bends were quite challenging. I sometimes change into sweats and jog/walk around the office park. How crazy would you think I was if you saw me doing cartwheels? I'd like to practice. Maybe I'll do them behind another building so nobody from work sees me. There is something sad about this, I think, but I have a reputation for eccentricity bordering on innappropriate office behavior, so I don't know.

Are they a do or a don't?
I say a do!

I do cartwheels in the office cafeteria, though usually only when I know nobody will see me. I have done one to demonstrate that I could, though.

Definitely crazy, but maybe the good kind of crazy.

Do it! When your body can't do 'em anymore, won't you wish you had done so?

A hint of Spring in the air, a change in Egypt, and maybe the good kind of crazy? Ok, I'm turning a few.

Who's with me?

I never could do cartwheels. Gymnastics frightened the life out of me as a kid. But I can still do very nice pirouettes down the long hallways at work.

Any display of practical fitness in an office park is 100% approved by me. Anything that might guilt people out of their cubicles and into the sunshine is a good thing.

If you don't do it, I will be disappoint.

Like JanetLand, I have never been able to do them. Go for it and be overjoyed you can!

That was fun! The first one was omgi'mupsidedownwhathappened. The next three were wow, that's more impact than I remember. Then I got the confidence to get up enough speed and velocity to string some off.

I found a place where I doubt anyone from a building would see me, but was visible to the highway, which I think is awesome.

Use it or loose it, it's true.

Congratulations on your pirouettes, JanetLand!

I also vote yes to cartwheels. I was completely shocked a year or two ago when I discovered I can't seem to do them anymore. I think it's a combination of too much weight and for some reason fear.

So I'll cheer you on and be jealous - as soon as I lose another 20 pounds I'm going to try again.

Yay!!

(I've never been able to do them either. Sigh.)

JanetLand, I'm another piroutter. (Pirouetteuse?) I was so buoyed up after interviewing for my present job that I twirled on the way out. I was a bit abashed afterwards -- I know they saw me -- but obviously I did get the job.

So yes to cartwheels, rainbaby.

Definitely a do and I'm happy you did!

Go for it. I've never been able to do cartwheels (and I remember being laughed at in gym class because of said inability and someone called my cartwheels "potato chips" because they were so uneven).

At my office, it's common on your lunch break to walk a lap or two around the building (there's a service drive all the way around for security, so it's a pleasant little thing with forest creatures hanging about, including Magoo, the dumbass cardinal that has yet to learn that there is a window in the breakroom and not another cardinal).

I'd just be impressed.

Please continue to do this. Please only do this if you are wearing pants.

It never occurred to me that I might lose the ability to do cartwheels. I turned my first cartwheel in years about a year and a half ago - just to show my daughter I could.

They ARE surprisingly high impact.

How crazy AWESOME would you think I was if you saw me doing cartwheels?

PRETTY AWESOME, IS ALL I'M SAYING.
