My daughter decided to get up with a bounce and a smile at →[More:]4am this morning. So far I've only managed a short nap. This is going to be a looooooong day. Thank goodness I work at home.
Gosh. . .I can remember laying on the living room rug, and just wanting to drift off, and my kid jumping on my back, knowing what I need to do but making a fun game about not allowing me to do it.
These days will not last forever. Before you know it, she will want to be ANYWHERE but around her parents.
Yeah .. my kid has me thinking that when he gets up at 6, he's slept in. I pretty much consider any time after 5am fair game now. A few times in his short life, he's slept until 7 or 7:30 and it makes me worry that something terrible has happened to him. 4am is tough though. Here's hoping tonight and tomorrow morning is better .. sleepier, later!
here's the thing: I have absolutely no reason to complain. My kid loves to sleep. She sleeps until 7.30 or 8 most days and has slept 12 hours overnight since she was around 1. It rocks. It also means that my bedtimes have gotten later and later as I slip back into my pre-kid habits and now never get to sleep before midnight, often not before one. Thus the 4am rising really hurt.
Anyway, she's been a complete pill all day, and was screamy at her earlier-than-normal bedtime (overtired) and then just dropped off mid-yell. Blissful quiet :)
See, y'all are doing it wrong. You're supposed to instill fear into your children that way they won't leave their beds until you allow them to do so, right? Right?
