Songs. In the key of me. [More:]

First up is Cake's Let Me Go. I was talking about this song with a friend last night, and then it came up on my randomizer first thing this morning. I really like how it's about a woman who's sexy not for trying to be sexy, but just for being herself. That's overly simplistic, but maybe you can dig it.

Next is Desperate But Not Serious, by Adam Ant. This is so my theme song. And I wanted to go as Adam Ant for Halloween, but lacked the prep time this year. I was talking about this song the night before last with a friend, and, of course, it came up first on my randomizer the following morning. Spooky!

This song played on the way to work this morning: Last Defense. It's by Year of the Rabbit, another of Ken Andrews' awesome projects (Failure, On are both awesome bands). Interesting tune about opening up to someone late at night—something I've been doing a lot lately! There's one lyric that sends chills up my spine it's so evocative: "I'm a headstone waiting for words, so just carve my epitaph for me."

Last one isn't on youtube, so I uploaded it to typepad (used to be vox, hope it still works). It came on just as I was leaving the house and the lyrics are so bubbly and upbeat that they're impossible to resist.

Today is a new chapter that I'm ready to write
I finally got a feeling it'll all be alright

and the sing-songy bit:
