Europe 1890 I've downloaded a selection of chromatographs from the Library of Congress. They're mostly photographs of traveling sights in Europe deftly coloured in.[More:]Some locations.
Germany: Sylt, Helgoland, Neuschwanstein, Herrenchiemsee, Kreuznach, Nürenberg, Berchtesgaden, München, Baden Baden, Zugspitze, Dresden, Hamburg, Bremen, Lübeck, Eisenach, Coburg
France: the opera in Paris, the spa in Vichy, the spa in the Pyrenees, Nice, Strassbourg, Menton, Mt St Michel
Monaco
Switzerland; Basel
Poland: Danzig
Italy: Venice
Britain: Bath, Cambridge, Chester, Shrewsbury
NL: Haarlem, Amsterdam, Marken, Den Haag, Nijmegen, Utrecht, Arnhem
Austria-Hungary (also Czech Republic, Croatia)
Also some pictures from Tunisia and the US.
A few of these have been featured on peacays site.

I thought that said "Europe 1980" and was ready for some really tight fitting athletic clothes and some super dark eye makeup.

Ah, I'm glad you like them too. Selecting the ones I like from the Library of Congress was a lot of work. Tip: select full screen and F11.
I don't know why I like these so much. I can look at them endlessly.
Part of it is that I know a lot of these cities. And especially the German cities, but also Rotterdam, are nothing like that anymore since the bomming raids of WWII.

Of course it's not chromatography. We can't analyse chemicals with them.
They're photochroms from the Lib. of Congress.

I've never been to any of these places, and I find these fascinating and so lovely.

Thanks for posting these. I'm only about halfway thru, but just can't stop looking.

I think it's the interiors that I find the most interesting. It's like a tiny glimpse into seeing what life might have been like over 100 years ago.
