The Bride got RickRolled. . . We were at a wedding yesterday, [More:]and during the recital of the vows, the groom was saying the usual (sweet) things to the bride, then he said, "never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down," and then went on with the rest of the vows.

I asked him about it afterwards, and he did not seem to know that he rickrolled her, and no one aside from me said anything.

But it was a Rickroll, dammit, even if I was the only one to see it as such!

The wedding was beautiful. . .two "kids" in their mid-20's who had met as HS juniors, and been on and off since then. The bride's dad had cleared out a huge area of blackberries by a creek and made a meadow. Can't even imagine the work that went into that.

Yeah, it counts.

It counts, though he's probably too young to really be aware of who Rick Astley is and may not even know where he heard the phrase.

This reminds me of how some friends and I once had a conversation about how we'd like to give a eulogy consisting of spoken folk/rock lyrics and see if anyone got it.
