Louis CK has a bit about marriage being like a time machine, but one in which it takes same amount of time to get to your destination as it would if you'd never stepped inside the machine. This feels kind of like that.

I've talked to co-workers over the years about how short job tenures tend to be in the current job market and how different that is from the world our parents worked in. I've never been anywhere longer than seven years but know many people in the boomer generation who've been at their jobs for 25 or 35 years.
