Clothing size creep! →[More:] Todays clothing sizes are bigger than vintage, sure. But what the hey about shoe size creep? I was an 8 1/2 for years, now I'm an 8. I do not feel better about myself for having suddenly allegedly smaller feet. Your feet get bigger as you get older, that's a fact, right? Anyway, I've gotten so used to being a sure 8 that today I bought a pair of new sandals at a yard sale and a pair of wonderfully ugly hush puppies at Goodwill, both in an 8. And both will be made to work, dammit, but sure enough, they are both snug. WTH, fashion industry?
This is a public service notice, to anyone else who buys USAian women's shoes without trying on - take the age of the shoe into account!
