Whatcha doing this weekend? [More:]

I don't have all that much planned, but at the moment I'm making eggplant parmesan. Later we'll go rent The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I also need to do laundry.

You?
Ugh, I have no idea. Husband is out of town, it's hot already, we're broke. I'm open to suggestions.

Cooking for my birthday party on Monday! Putting the final touches on my application for Month at the Museum! Drinking lots of coffee! Using lots of exclamation points!

I only have to write the final essay for my RM class exam and comment on another person's DB post. I'm trying to decide if I want to go over to my folks house for dinner tonight because allegedly my mother is making some special dish that my brother likes. Pops is supposed to be coming over at some point today to put anchors in the walls so I can hang these tile things of myths. (Hopefully he's also bringing the blanket for my hot water heater.)

And what am I doing instead? Lying in bed and reading while listening/watching The Wire.

The big thing today is going to be cleaning, starting with the bedroom - it's about to get eaten by laundry piles. I already fixed a broken drawer. Now I am off to make pancakes before the milk goes bad. I'm also thinking about going to get some water goblets because the last one broke last week.

Taking a sightseeing/dinner cruise on the rivers tonight for our seventh anniversary. It's such a yinzer thing to do, it should be fun.

Doing laundry, trying to locate and eradicate the source of the cat pee smell, and working. FUN weekend.

On the plus side, I'm having dinner with a friend.

Need to finish up the two online continuing education classes I'm taking this summer. I have to have a certain number of hours, amounting to six of these classes in all, every five years to maintain my teaching certificate. The deadline for these two classes is Friday. I'll get it done, it's just tedious and repetitive. Maybe some chinese food tonight for a reward!

I was going to have a lazy weekend where I didn't do much of anything. But then I remembered I still hadn't filed my tax return for 2009 yet, so I'm doing that. My two cats are "helping".

Had a major concert last night, followed by the accompanying faceful of food and mojitos OMNOMNOMNOMNOM. Now I am sitting on my couch and not planning to go anywhere for several hours. My last two weekends (and multiple evenings) have been filled with rehearsal for this group, so I'm very, very happy to not have to sing today.

Of course, we do have to sing tomorrow, in a town 2.5 hours north of here. We're recording a cd and have to get more usable material than our one yearly concert would provide. But today... nope.

Normally I'm not so fond of my proscribed voice part, but this morning I thank god I'm an alto.

If I do say so myself, this eggplant parm is righteous. Used the Joy of Cooking recipe, but didn't make sauce from scratch. Instead I doctored up some Trader Joe's sauce with onions, garlic, basil, and red peppers. Eggplant and peppers were from the garden. I'm on serving #2.

Right when I got home the Big System at work decided to have a heart attack, so I'm trying to nurse it back to health.

I am so glad I did the laundry and cleaning before we left. All I have to do is wipe the dust off stuff and kick the cats of the keyboard.

Lazing and watching cooking shows with Mr Bearwife after sleeping in. Probably will see Inception tonight. Shopping, laundry, and some time in the office tomorrow.

Yard sale this morning (having, not attending), which was dispiriting and hot, and for fun, laundry this evening. Work tomorrow, followed by more work for a presentation on Monday. Not my favorite weekend ever.

Went and saw Avenue Q with some friends this afternoon here in DC. Today is a very good friend's birthday, so we are going out for some kickass Mexican tonight. We walked to the White House today to show our dog. She was duly impressed.
Tomorrow brunch with another friend, then off to one of the Smithsonian museums. Tonight should be an early night, it has been a terrifically busy day.

Went to a benefit last night for the Richardson Towers. Was going to do a firefly marathon today with a friend who has never seen the show, but his nap turned into five hours of real sleep and now it's too late for him since he has an early day tomorrow. So I guess I'll be sitting online and maybe sewing.

1. Ran 9 miles.
2. Picnic and playing with random internet strangers at a state park.
3. Jameson's on the rocks.

(I like the three-point status update system).

2. Cleaning the bathroom. (Let us never speak of this again.)
3. Trying to meet with a new colleague in town for lunch, if she ever answers the text and email we arranged to exchange to set it up. Gah.
