Police have just been round ... [More:]

... not, not for Hell Neighbour this time.

They were trying to trace family/partner of my biker neighbour, Jamie. He's been in an accident, and I have a horrible, sinking feeling that he's been killed. I asked them outright several times if he was dead, and they said they could not give me any information, except to say that it was "extremely serious" and they had to speak to his family first.

Jamie went off to Cornwall last night on his Harley, for a few days camping. The accident happened in the West Country.

He and his girlfriend split up after 20 years about 18 months ago, but neither could afford to buy the other out, so he was living there alone mostly, with Kate coming back from time to time. I didn't have her mobile number, but I gave the police her email address and told them the name of her employers (a London council), so they can trace her through them.

If he had been seriously hurt, I think they would have said "well, he's very poorly" or something like that. I am fearing the worst here.
Oh no. Best wishes to you, suspecting but not knowing for certain must be terrible.

Oh dear. I'm sending good thoughts, and hoping that the police are just being fiercely protective of J's privacy. You've done what you could to help, which is important.

That's him at the back, the bearded guy in the check shirt. A lovely, gentle soul.

When he first moved in here, the old ladies were horrified, thinking he was a Hell's Angel, because of the bikes, long hair, beard, leathers. But once they got to know him, they loved him. He would help anyone out, he was so kind and sweet-natured.

Not. Fucking. Fair.

Unfortunately, it really is only the good that die young. Arseholes get to live forever, it seems to me.

This week has made me believe that, dg. One longtime online friend just dropped dead at age 30, another lost a sister in her thirties to cancer, and now this.

That aside, I really hope your neighbor is okay, Senyar. Keep us updated.
