Our a/c unit at home has been limping along at half-speed for TWO months and it's a MILLION DEGREES in Texas.

I'm with you, lfr, unending heat makes me occasionally just FREAK OUT babbling. GGGGGRRRAAAARRRRR!!!!!!!

indubitably toastedbeagle... sadly we lack an A/C unit altogether. they're not common in the mountains. Neither were temps above 90°F until the latter part of last decade :P

unrelated but freaky: a wasp just flew out of my bike locker RIGHT INTO MY FACE. also: crashed on the bike path on the way to work this morning on an invisible mud/grease patch that owes itself to the Never. Ending. Construction. Everywhere. Now I am bruisy and have a small rip in my pants, and am about to go join a meeting with Boss' Boss, aka the Site President, regarding above ginormous looming set of deadlines.

*hyperventilates*

Just got voicemail from weekend guests who are supposed to be here tomorrow night: "We decided to come on into town tonight! We'll be there before midnight!" Oh, so a couple of hours after my bedtime since I have to work tomorrow at 7 AM?

AAAAARGH. WTF is up with people pulling shit like this?

When I was in college we had Primal Scream Therapy sessions on the roof of our dorm. It was sort of like this.

I wish I could sleep. I'm at the point where I'm doing the mental math: Well, if I fall asleep right now, I'll get 4 hours. That's enough, right? That'll at least stave off a psychotic episode. I won't exactly be perky tomorrow, but that's the whole purpose of coffee. Four hours is a nice power-nap. Yah, that'd work. Just fall asleep right now.

...okay, three hours. That's a respectable nap. Oh, hey, and I could skip shaving and breakfast and take the quickest shower of my life and maybe sleep in an extra 30 minutes. Sweet. Three and a half hours. Totally do-able. Sleep. Now.

But I can't. So tomorrow, err, today, is pretty much guaranteed to suck.

Oh, ecrivain, I was in exactly that sleep space two days ago, and three days ago, and four days ago, and so on. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH it's awful. And then one day it ends and oh blissful sleep and oh blissful waking.
