Accidental Life Hack #56 Our trash/recycling containers get pretty smelly in warm weather. [More:] To the point where you hesitate to open the bins. Even with hosing them out regularly.

Enter the jasmine vines across the way. They are SO fragrant that they overpower the yucky smells. And they are right there, as if we planned it this way.

We didn't but it is working fine.
Can't have too much jasmine. Fantastic and powerful stuff.

I walked through some beautiful honeysuckle at the garden centre today and am wondering where I can plant it so I get the scent in my bedroom.

I know I'm in the minority, but I can't stand jasmine. It may have something to do with never being around it growing up, but it's abundant in the part of Florida where my sister lives and destroys my allergies and hurts my brain. I've never had such a strong reaction to a plant that wasn't poisonous.

Glad it works for you, though, danf.

Composting also helps keep the stink out of a trash can. Not nearly as pretty as jasmine, but makes for healthy gardens.
