Let's play "Name my baby" take 2... [More:]I was convinced i was having a boy, so i had my boy names all picked out (Noah or Jude) but apparently it's another girl...(what i wanted!!)...and true to form i have NO idea what to name her.
My preference is for androgynous names...first daughter is Mykah(Micah). However their last name ends in "ji" (gee) so i'd like to avoid names that end with the "ee" or "gee" sound.
Any ideas?
Bonus if it means something good like "you are meant to rule the world" and not "nose-picker."
Gracias. Taa. Danke. Me daase. Kthxbye.
Actually I know a baby girl named Jude, so if you want an androgynous name, you've already picked one.

I love Ryan for a girl.

I was always partial to Dinah, pronounced correctly in the Old Testament way: "dee-nah"; accent on 1st syllable.

sadly it's not very androgynous, and also thanks to "Dy-nah Shore" and similarly atrocious Noo-Yawk-isms, you'd never get it past the untutored masses without damage.

my surname is a great gender-bender: Jordan -- and I'd always thought it would be a nice fillip on a vintage 1800's tradition of naming my first daughter by the mother's maiden name. Were I ever be-daughtered I'd use it (this becomes vanishingly more unlikely with each passing birthday; no regrets, tho).

Another vote for Jude!

Jude is indeed good... except for the part where I can imagine any number of well-meaning (or just plain passive-aggressive) in-laws and elementary school staff pronouncing it "Judy"

Noel instead of Noah?

Thing is, i'm Judi...i name her Jude, everyone is going to call her Judi!!

Friends named their yet-to-be-born baby Lennon before they knew the sex.

Lindsay (meaning "Lincoln's marsh; island of linden trees". Place name. The surname of some of the major Scottish and English noble families)

Campbell (though some of the origin is unfortunate: of Scottish and Gaelic origin, and the meaning of Campbell is "crooked mouth". Name of a famous Scottish Highland clan, referring to the facial feature. The hereditary heads of the Campbell clan, the Dukes of Argyll, at one time controlled vast acres of the Scottish highlands and commanded the loyalty of thousands of men.)

Dakota (GREAT meaning: It is of Native American Indian origin, and the meaning of Dakota is "friend, ally". Tribal name and place name. May also possibly mean "forever smiling".)

Jadon (Hebrew, means "Jehovah has heard.")

Sage (of Latin origin, and the meaning is "healing herb")

Shea (of Gaelic origin, and the meaning of Shea is "admirable". From Seaghdha. Also possibly "from the fairy fort".)

Rowan (of Gaelic origin, and the meaning of Rowan is "little red-head". Also the name of a flowering tree with red berries.)

Eliot. You could call her Ellie. Or Jordan. (Thank you Scrubs.)

I like Sage. Totally agree with not naming her a similar name to yours, ramix.

Here at the dawn of the 21st century, it is worth giving brief consideration to what sort of email addresses and usernames can be derived from the given name. Ferinstance: I have a coworker who always makes me think of soup, because the "first initial last name" pattern turned into the email address "pho@...".

I know a lady doctor named Michael, so there's that.

I knew sisters named Summer and Tuesday, but that may be too out there.

Yes, congrats. May it be a blissful pregnancy.

Riley is terrific but it violates your "ee" rule.

Meredith, Stacy and Allison were originally meant for boys. How about a feminised name you can shorten to androgynous? Alexandra, Nicola, Jacqueline, Frances....I know a Matthea.

also not mentioned but being considered - Daryl (although the more i think about it, the less i like it); Piper, Sasha.
If i just dropped the H in Noah and made it Noa, would she hate me for life?
