They are the anti-Lady Gaga in that they do in their videos with a lot less effort and production that Lady Gaga's trying for in hers.
They're every bit as out there, but there's a heart to it. Maybe it's just me - I grind on about Lady Gaga here and elsewhere. But when I saw this video, there was something that popped into my head that said, "That - that is making a cool statement without TRYING SO DAMN HARD."
I happen to like Lady Gaga BECAUSE she's trying so damn hard. But in a different way than Madonna, for example, who choreographs weird routines instead of just doing weird and fun for fun's sake.

You saw the Rube Goldberg machine video, right? OK, just checking.
She's a pop-dance act, where this is indie rock (or something of that sort), and I think both their video/live show styles fit with their musical genres.

Heh, I mentioned it above without even thinking about the contradiction it is to what LT is saying ("they do in their videos with a lot less effort and production that Lady Gaga's trying for in hers") about Ok Go.
I love both OK Go and Lady Gaga. I will say without reservation that the first has loads more heart than the second, and that is the main failing of the second with the possible exception of "Bad Romance". If she ever begins to write songs with true heart she will crush all before her in a juggernaut. Well, she's doing that already. But she will do it twice over.
Who says it's violent? I'm not prompted to violence because Lady Gaga makes records. I just think she's massively over-rated, most likely because of my age. Madonna did this shit twenty years go, Britney, Xtina etc. did it ten years ago.
Lady Gaga doesn't do anything original, interesting or in any way that expands pop music at all. That's why I don't like her, and it's entirely a subjective thing.
Conversely, OK Go shows (to my way of looking at it) tremendous originality, humor, and is every bit as catchy as anything Lady Gaga does.
Jouke - I will drop it. It's pop music, nothing more nothing less. But don't read into it anything that isn't there. I don't have a violent dislike. Just preferences - like you for what you like to read on the net. Peace.
