Modern relationship notes. My nephew and his girlfriend just broke up.[More:]

Part of the spectacular denouement was an argument over which of them spent more time on Farmville.

That is all.
Ha, I like that the subject of the argument was not that the time on Farmville and not with each other, but who did it more.

Heh, was it a contest? "I'm on Farmville more!!!!" "STFU, I am!!! Who do you think is clicking on those pigs, night after night???"

hah.

"I'll take the beets!"
"No way! I planted them on your farm! I take the beets!"
"Yeah! but I voted for your tomatoes!"
*[boy] razes [girl]'s fields*
*[girl] sets fire to [boy]'s granary*

disclaimer: I have no idea of how Farmville works.

I really like the phrase "girl sets fire to boy's granary". That is all.

You know those couples that have conjoined email addresses?

jerryandteena@aol.com

I'm still waiting for one of those to end in bloodshed. You just wait.

Sometimes I think that my husband might divorce me over the time that I spend online, period. He is just not an internet person.

(don't worry, I don't really think he will divorce me. Just get grumpy occasionally).

It's probably better to have at least one person who isn't totally addicted. We're a two-addict household. Although I'll admit that I'm worse.

Just moments ago, nephew changed his status to "in a relationship", though apparently she isn't on FB.

I predict some de-friending by the gf's relatives shortly.

Mr. init is baffled by my affinity for being online. "Why don't you just *call* or *email* people? Online people? You don't even know them!"

Of course, people he has met at meetups then become friends. :-)

I HATE conjoined email addresses. I don't know for sure who is addressing me so I just delete and don't reply.

I know two 70-odd-year-old lesbians who live in Australia who have a conjoined email address - reneeandrenata@... and every single time I see an email from them I think of this.*

*which was a massive hit in the UK in 1982, stayed at No. 1 in the charts for weeks.

Yea, the conjoined email thing is weird. I can't imagine sharing an inbox with my wife and I'm sure that the idea is even more horrifying for her. Not that we keep any secrets, we know each other's passwords but someone else going in and messing with your folder organization would be crazy-making.

A friend from high school and his girlfriend broke up a few weeks ago. I'm friends with both on Facebook. I feel a little weird still being her "friend"= she's not my friend, she was just my friend because she was his girlfriend. I hope they will get back together just so I don't have to deal with this pain any longer.

Plus I think they were meant to be :'-(

Daughter's FB page, and her ex's, are both invisible to be beyond the cover page. This is a good thing. I would be too tempted to partake in a bit of KremlinFacebookology to an excessive degree.

One of the ways I determined that my new relationship was actually a "real" relationship was when we decided to change our FB statuses. But I thought it would be best for me to email my mom/dad/sis first because the first two aren't on FB, and he had to go tell his mom because she reads his FB (and his sister already knew) and so it actually got me thinking longer and more critically about whether or not I actually wanted to date him and so...

Yeah, Facebook'd.
