Hey! My hometown gets a shoutout on the Blue this morning. Not just my hometown, but the presiding Charismatic Evangelical population, home to many interfaith youth revival meetings when I was in high school.[More:]I love the sort of inside baseball in this article from my home town paper (linked in the original Mefi post)

After a strange experience with an erratic Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry student who baby-sat his children, Bart McCurdy of Cottonwood decided to find out for himself what was going on at Bethel... Once, as she ran through her house frantically searching for her journals, the baby sitter told McCurdy the anti-Christ was in her house and Jesus was in hell saving people, he said. Shortly after that, she went into a trancelike state and said she felt 20 feet tall before losing consciousness, he said. The behavior made him believe she was demon-possessed, he said.

Ah yes... she's not REALLY blessed with the Holy Spirit! She's actually possessed by a DEMON! The signs are, like, exactly the same apparently :)
Horray?

Not all live in a city so thoroughly imaged as NYC. We have to take our little thrills of recognition where we can.
