Speaking of Fry, I'm interested to hear more about this miniseries he's trying to make with Grant Morrison. The director describes it as "Twin Peaks meets Brigadoon." (Most things compared to Twin Peaks are actually nothing like it, but still...)

It was great. I wouldn't mind if he switched to that format permanently. Studio audiences, with their increasing tendency to react to every joke like an over-caffeinated pack of trained seals, are ruining TV talk shows. Even The Daily Show and Stephen Colbert have all but become unwatchable because the audience screams and applauds after every third punchline.

Do jokes really need standing ovations? What—is simple laughter not good enough anymore? Bah.

That was pretty cool. I'm curious about Stephen wanting to become a US citizen, was that just for an American audience or is he serious? That would mean no more QI, which would suck.
