Sweep sings! [More:]
I know that Muppet version of Bohemian Rhapsody was a big hit, but for over 50 years Sweep has been the singing puppet maestro.

Although Sooty (the bear) is the star of the show, I've always liked Sweep (the dog) better - he is naughty (frequently seen garlanded with a string of sausages he's stolen from the butcher's) and is always getting himself into mischief.

But best of all is his voice, which I've always found utterly hilarious and completely believable. Of course you can understand what he's saying!

And he sings. Oh, how he sings.

Away in a Manger

I Just Called To Say "I Love You"

He raps!

And he sings opera. His rendition of Nessun Dorma will bring you to tears.

Feel the Sweep love.
I will ALWAYS feel the Sweep love. Sooty and Sweep rock.

I never really cared for Soo.

I used to like Ramsbottom the Snake (he wore a flat cloth cap and had a broad Lancashire accent), but once Harry Corbett retired, we never saw him again.

Soo needed a good seeing-to, imho. And she'd never get that from Sooty.

Wow. I've never seen that before. That's freakin' adorable! That may just get a loving mention on Scarred for Life (even though it's not scarring, it's just too cute and kooky not to share!) Thanks essexjan!

The theme for this week's Photo Friday is "Asleep". || Why Have Women Magicians Vanished?
