Is it time for more nearly-impossible anagram chain puzzles?
→[More:]Well, ready or not, here they are.
Here's a recap of the rules from
last time:
I. Each list of 3, 4, or 5 words below is a single puzzle of linked anagrams.
II. Each word in the list will donate two letters to the word below it and receive two letters from the word above it (circularly, so the last word on the list donates two letters to the first word.)
III. If the donated & received letters have been chosen wisely, then the results can be anagrammed back into another list of seven-letter words.
IV. Furthermore, the letters that were moved between words can be anagrammed into one additional mystery word - for this batch, each one is to yield a
fruit or a vegetable. That can be a helpful hint.
Example puzzle:
1. clearer
2. shuteye
3. clunker
4. plumbed
Solution:
1. embrace (clearer -lr +bm)
2. shelter (shuteye -uy +lr)
3. unlucky (clunker -er +uy)
4. prelude (plumbed -bm +er)
The donated letters
bm lr uy er unscramble to
mulberry. Got it?
