We really weren't able to provide more notice due to the unpredictability of the fambly Christmas schedule. But I think LT is trying to say that we would enjoy meeting up for lunch or afternoon beers with anyone who might be in the neighborhood between, say, 11 and 3. Sorry all y'alls. We will definitely give more notice next time. It's the small town in me, that whole "hey, we'll be in your neck of the woods today - let's have a BBQ!" thing.

What LT and Miko Did in NYC All Day:

- went to Strand for an hour. Moleskine journals were purchased. Guidebooks gainfully gotten.

- quick stop at Shakespeare and Co. for items not-findable at the Strand. (WHA WHA WHAT??? NO ITALO CALVINO????)

- a perusal of Adam Cheapees (sp.?) for new duds - none found.

- a few pints at Jimmy 43's around the way from Cooper Union (they have HUGE-ASS BASKETS OF 2 DOLLAR HARD PRETZELS, KIDS!)

- a trip to Bleecker Street to gawk at the ultra-trendy-rich-spoiled-wellheeled gay and otherwise-folks. Came away with gift samples of Dyptique perfume and cologne, and a nice round of something from Murray's Cheese Shop. More pints at the Slaughtered Lamb.

- a one lb. bag of Java Mountain Supreme coffee from Murphy and Co. on Christopher Street.

And yet again, NYC calmly explains why it is the finest city in the world. Like I forgot from last year?

I promise all of you far more notice next time, seriously. At least a month's worth. We will rage. There will be subtext and much rejoicing. That is all.

I am already looking forward to next year.
