Awesome office supplies for my awesome girlfriend? [More:]So, nerd alert, my awesome GF is really into office supplies. So for X-mess, I am putting together a new plastic file box (natch) of awesome office supplies. Like, multi-colored post-its. And colored highlighters. Colored file folders. Multi-colored paperclips. A brand new label maker with an extra box of labels. (So far this the label maker the "big" ticket item.) An ergonomic stapler. Scotch tape, a glue-gel thing-y with an applicator, Sharpie markers, ruler, letter opener. All super/over colored.

What am I missing? I'm thinking now it's time for some funny items, like office stamps and stickers. I found and bought one stamp that just cracked me up -- it says (just) "FYI." (Because, like, you could stamp everything FYI and passive-agressively hand it to someone else.)
The funniest office supplies are sold by Knock Knock. Their unfortunate web address is knockknock.biz.

They make a ton of really cool paperclips these days - not just colored, but in shapes. I saw some dog and flower-shaped ones at Christmas Tree shops recently, and a few years back I gave my mom some circular Italian ones. Also, pushpins have undergone a fun makeover.

I'm very taken with this japanese fountain pen. It's fine and pressure sensitive which makes for a great alternating fine and wider line. And it's only $7.50.

Have you seen the little baby binder clips? Because not only are they useful, they're adorable.

This is still part of the "regular stuff" brigade, but I adore the correction tape applicators. I HATE Liquid Paper et. al., so this stuff is awesome.

You know Archie McPhee, right?

How about some floaty pens?

Oooh, she loves tape flags. And I like the idea of the correction tape applicators, she'll like that. And some goofy memo pad. Thanks, these are great ideas!

I love this idea. I would be so happy to get this box of great stuff as a gift. Check out this pencil sharpener from The Container Store. Just looking at it immediately transported me back to elementary school. It's certainly more of a classic than this dog butt model. How about a lipstick pen? I think you'd also find some wonderful things in an art supply store. I always love looking at art supplies - something about all the possibilities makes me feel happy.

This is a great present.

Okay, just bought awesome items from Knock Knock -- Make a Decision Pad, Note to Self Pad, We Need to Talk Sticky, and Dial an Excuse Wheel.

Really want the old-school pencil sharpener linked by Kangaroo ...

And tomorrow at office store will pick up tape flags and correction tape applicator. Also thinking about door cards like "Do Not Disturb," "In a Meeting," etc. ...

How could I forget? When I was in school, the pencil boxes and bags were what I envied. Make sure you have a couple of those.

Don't forget about ThinkGeek!

A 3-pack of short pens. One is small enough to clip into the fold of my wallet. Available at the usual office supply places.

Ricochet. || Urgent question: Hold time was supposed to be 3 minutes. It's now been 40.
