Hi Nick Jadlowe, you listen to some killer tunes, I'm glad you chose to join in.

Rainbaby, I'm not familiar with Phoenix. Got a starting place for me?

Actually, it looks like I have a long list of new stuff to check out. Thanks for the post(s) Hugh.

Suddenly feeling somewhat trapped in my little iTunes closet.
posted by Nick Jadlowe 17 November | 16:35
It sounds like a pretty nice closet, all the same, nickjad lowe!

I enjoy these, partially because I like trying to guess the poster from the list. I'm not very good at it though, and then when you factor in things like TheDonF listening to AEROSMITH, it makes it even tougher!

No music handy to post my own right now, rats.

1. Tourniquet - Evanescence
2. Spiderwebs - No Doubt
3. I Threw a Brick Through a Window - U2
4. Treat Your Mama - John Butler Trio
5. Nowhere Man - Beatles
6. I Put a Spell on You - Bryan Ferry
7. Dancing With Myself - Billy Idol
8. Andy Warhol - David Bowie
9. Can't Buy Me Love - Beatles
10. Peaches & Cream - John Butler Trio.

Typically mainstream. My defence is that this is on my work laptop that is set on shuffle all through the day (via iTunes DJ), so I didn't consciously choose them ;-)

Gosh I hate to recommend Phoenix, esp. based on the bands I mentioned having a common fondness for, Nick Jadlowe. They do favor the driving base beats, but it is Euro Synth Pop - ? I'm not good at quantifying music. The whole cd is like an upbeat cloud where words have little meaning. Here is the Amazon link with some samples. I know I'm not the only one listening to them, but it feels like a guilty pleasure.
