Bunnycon: Oct. 30-Nov 1st. My house. Come one, come all! [More:]

Way back when I was looking to buy a house, I decided that once I purchased and got settled in to the new place I'd be hosting a big bash for y'all. And mefites. And my friends.

So today I set the date: Friday, Oct 30th through Sunday, Nov. 1st. I have lots of room for visitors to stay, either in extra bedrooms, on couches, on the floor, and even out in the yard in tents.

I have Fridays off each week, and I'd welcome people to stay a day or so on either side of the weekend if that works better for your travel schedules.

SO! What do you say?

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Also: Duh.

I live in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area of North Carolina, in the US. It's about 5 hours drive from DC, 9 hours drive (or about $120-$150ish plane trip) from NYC, 6 hours from Atlanta, 3.5 hours from Asheville, NC, 5 hours from Charleston, SC, 7 hours from Philly.

Whoo hoo! Halloween with bunnies? That sounds like a blast. :)

OMG this sounds great. I'm a very tentative maybe. With a little'un and all, I can't predict how things might pan out. But I have some friends who just moved to the area, so it might be a good excuse to combine visits!

Sounds fun! Alas, I can't get away for Halloween.

Sounds like a blast. I'll be there in spirit!

richat is funny.

Ah, hmmm. I'm booked for the 30th, but if I trust my car by then, I could see swinging through for lunch or maybe doing the night of the 31st. I have my own axe.

BP, so you'll be here, right?
TPS--whenever you come to the area, lemme know...
Gaspode, that would ROCK. I'm hoping others will think of it as an opportunity to visit their friends here, too.
richat and rollick: aw. it'd be much better if y'all could make it.
rainbaby: you're in VA somewhere, right? Wonder if there'll be people coming who can pick you up if your car's not working yet. Hm...

Sounds delightful. . but since I can't even get my ass up to Portland for a meetup, it's unlikely I'll be getting back there.

But I am sure a good time will be had by all, even with the axe.

GOODIE! Goodie goodie GOODIE! Good. EEE. I love halloween!

What a great offer! I wish I could --- I'd love to meet you in person, and see your (no doubt lovely) home. I know y'all will have a blast!

Crap crap crappity crap. I actually live nearby, but I am gonna be outta town that weekend. New York City meetup, instead?
posted by msali 17 August | 13:05
Oooh, msali, I'm so sad you won't be able to be there! We'll have to make sure you come over another time, then.

Also: The main party will be on the 31st. I posted it over in metatalk as a meetup.

Bummah - I'll be in the midst of starting new job/moving/etc. so it's unlikely this October. But I'd love to visit your region, so maybe a raincheck for some future time?
posted by Miko 17 August | 14:13
Miko would like to "visit your region" (rawr).

(sorry, sometimes the child in me takes over)
posted by richat 17 August | 14:21
Depending on my car situation, I might make this. (I've got vacation time to use-or-lose soon.)
posted by sperose 17 August | 15:25
Woo hoo! Another possible!

Miko: you've got a standing invite, gal.
posted by Stewriffic 17 August | 16:22
You know. I should probably try and make this.

Awww, I have a wedding to go to in Durham on October 17, so if you'd set this for a couple of weeks earlier it would have been perfect.
posted by casarkos 17 August | 21:43
Oh, if I lived on the right side of the country, and I didn't have a houseful of people who expected to go trick or treating...I would so be there. :)
posted by Dejah 17 August | 21:54
hey, casarkos, if you have a few extra minutes to kill, let me know! I'd love to take you out for a drink or sumpin.

Also, dhartung, this is a way to enjoy warm weather even in the fall...

Dejah and all others, you will be sorely missed!

Righteous.
posted by Stewriffic 19 August | 08:17
yay, I'll definitely let you know!

(I still have to actually arrange the flight and lodging and all that fun stuff first...)
posted by casarkos 19 August | 18:16
I'm thinking I could drive down Friday and still be home in time to go trick-or-treating Saturday night. I like that thought.
