Help me get this thought out of my head... [More:]I had gone to get my car serviced recently, you know--the works (denting, painting, overalling) and I had to choose a colour for the car seat covers--no, that wasn't the problem. But ever since I've come back home (I gave the car around three days ago) I've been wondering what if I had changed the Car colour too. The car colour right now is fine (it's a greenish shade) and I would've wanted something in red this time, but I'm afraid it's a little too late since they've already finished the denting and the painting work.

Have you ever felt this way? Of course you have! Knew you could've done something differently, and not moaned about it so much. Actually, now that I think about it--I could be feeling a little bit better. But only a little bit.

Sigh.
Why don't you think about all the things you have to be grateful for. Maybe that will get your worries about the color of your car out of your head.

In my experience, the best way to get a thought out of your head is not to spend so much time in your head.

Sure, you could have done something different, but hey, who cares? You've got a car, which is awfully handy, and can be fun.

Changing the color would require a lot more work, they'd have to to do the door jams and anywhere in the interior where the color carries over. So you probably saved money too.

I usually try to think of why the other side isn't greener (ha!)
Like even if you had your car done in red you'd end up sick of the color anyway.

Also, red doesn't seem to weather well. I have three friends who have had their car refinished(?) red and each time the paint on the roof dulled within a year.

Not to mention, red seems to attract more police officers. Green is such a calm, soothing color, that maybe they won't see you speeding past! ;^)

I agree with jason's_planet... set this aside and be busy for a while. Finish a project, go see friends, hang out with your family. See how you feel about it in a week.

Painter's remorse. I've never had this particular type, but you put it up and you immediately think about your second and third choices.

doctor_negative is right; changing car colors is actually a pretty big job, generally not at all cheap or easy.

But regrets? I've had a few...

Well, for one thing aftermarket paint jobs never hold up as well as the factory original, so had you gone with changing the color it would have looked faded or chipped in a couple years anyways. You're better off keeping the factory color.
