Is the internet broken? [More:] Get to work this morning and I have no emails since yesterday (very unusual), nor does my boss (whose inbox I spy on). And, there are no posts here today.

I'm groggy as it is, but this is making me feel downright loopy. So this is basically a test post to make sure that I'm really here and not still asleep.
Ah. Whew! At least this post made today's date show up on the front page. I feel much better now.

It is, and I blame Facebook.

I was wondering about that also. Aside from groggy, how the hell are you, pup?

We replaced the internet with the twitter.

I thought the internets were broken, but it turned out my wife had just tripped over the router's power cord.

You mean aside from groggy? I'm fine, though insanely busy with the new job. (Which isn't really a 'new' job, so much as it's a second job on top of my old job.) And that's on top of my REAL second job, which is 10-15 hours a week of freelance stuff. But I'm happy to have one job, let alone three (though my three jobs only have two salaries; go figure), especially since they just announced our pay cuts.

Oh, and I get up twice in the middle of every night to deal with cat issues. Every night. Usually at 2:30 and 4, although this morning they let me sleep until 5.

So really, there is no 'aside from groggy.'

Because I don't want this to be a ME ME ME thread, how's everyone else?

I think the internet really did break, briefly, when MJ died.

Doing so-so. Am cat-sitting for 2 weeks; yes, I understand that the cat likes to sleep on my head at 4 a.m., but why does she have to specifically position her anus by my nose?

Doing OK also. We feel hemmed in my having 4 animals. The cat that has leukemia is pretty much symptom-free, after a lot of nursing and tender care, and now he's the monster that he used to be. Be careful what you wish for.

Which reminds me, I need to go get the down comforter (which the above-mentioned cat peed on) from the cleaners.

Going for another hike this weekend but leaving the dog at home this time.

The internets don't seem to be broken over here, but FF 3.5 sure is slow to crank up. What's up with that?

danf - you guys need a down comforter in July??

The internet did seem broken this morning, at least at work. Nothing would load for me.

My cat has decided that the clementine I set down next to me is obviously a cat toy.

No. .that is why it's been at the cleaners for 2 weeks. And, we'd kicked the comforter on the floor on a hot night and the cat seized that opportunity. We usually just have one comforter on top, and just a fitted sheet on the bottom. 2 comforters in winter.

Cats are assholes, as a rule.

Ah. I can't say much: we keep a water gun by the bed for the cat that thinks we're a trampoline the second any morning light comes through.

Our email server got struck by lightning last week Actually, it was our ENTIRE server set, but it took our email with it. This means that we lost everything since our last backup in April, not to mention that people are emailing us and we're unable to even know that they've done so.

IT's been a really peaceful week. There's simply no email. If it's important enough, we pick up the phone. Other than that, we concentrate on the here and now instead of prattling and snarking at one another electronically.

The internet is quiet, but it always seems to get quiet in North American midsummer, at least on the sites I frequent. It's a good thing. I'm trying hard to concentrate on meatspace life a lot more. It feels good, too.

I haven't noticed any internet brokenness, but my power went out for 2 hours this morning. (Luckily, it was after I'd already decided to go back to bed and had everything shut down.)

I haven't done much today. I went to the grocery store and now I'm at home baking and doing laundry. I'm getting ready to investigate some sort of strange cake decorating set that my mother gave me today (after I told her I needed to borrow her bigger muffin pan and decorating tips) that was from my grandmother. Apparently my mother has hung on to it since 1992 when my grandmother gave it to her! And it still has the original instructions that it came with.

I have extra internet here, what with my iPhone and all! It's great, especially twitter.

By the time I get home today, I had better have Internets at my apartment or I will have to rage in CAPSLOCKS. It's been out for over a week, which is a lifetime in Internet years.
