Heard Llorando via Rollick's Post (the one with several hundred songs) And am curious about the rest of this CD.[More:]Llorando is mind-blowing, chilling, and just bitchen, and I had never heard of it, or Rebekah del Rio. Possibly I am the only one. I will buy the CD if someone here gives it a thumbs up.

If you are interested in a spanish cover, acapella, or Orbison's Crying, go here and find it. It's the best thing that's happened this week for me, and it's not been a bad week. I just like it that much.
I first heard that song in the movie Mullholland Dr. and it about blew me out of my chair. (Del Rio appears in the movie, singing it, in, er, very surreal circumstances.)

If you're at all interested in David Lynch movies, watch that film and don't watch the clip of the song beforehand. Better to see it in context. But if you're never going to see the film, do at least check out that scene.

You should really see it as part of the movie, though.

According to legend, the most amazing thing about that track is that it was supposed to be just a sound check. They wanted to test the levels before they started the official recording, and her performance was so amazing they used that take.

She also does an amazing rendition of The Star Spangled banner (partially in Spanish) in "Southland Tales".

So I take it that no one has heard the rest of the CD. . .

(And I think that I yanked Southland Tales out of the DVD player before that song got on.)
