Askmecha: Song posted here: Rockabilly, Girls singing something about Cleopatra Dance Dance DANCE! [More:] It was a really fun tune and I found it later on a compilation album to order over the web. I didn't order it then and now that I want to, I've completly blanked in the name of the song and the girl band that performed it. Gaaah! ALl I remember is DANCE DANCE DANCE!
I'm an idiot with bad search-fu! FOUND IT! It's The Tammy's "Egyptian Shumba". Crazy great indeed.

Yeay thanks. :9 I'm trying to collect the albums (or singles) that the songs in that cute box set are from. The first two I need to get are Egyptian Shumba and then lookin' for boys by the pin-ups. we get our bikinis... Small as they come...". There's this massive record shop near us that is closing and I'm on a mission to empty it of treasures.

Found this.
From Mick Patrick: Subject: Bob Feldman, FGG & the Pin-Ups

Hi Tom, It'd be great if you could ask Bob for the story behind one of his lesser-known creations: The Pin-Ups "Lookin' For Boys" (Stork 1, 1964) . understand it was a "We could take any three broads off any street corner and make a hit record with 'em. So take a hike, troublesome Angels" type scenario. But that story has the whiff of apocrypha about it. "Lookin' For Boys" might not have been a hit record, but it sure was a good one. Who were these girls? Does Bob have a photo of the group he could share with us?
