Apology gift ideas? When exiting my friend's car yesterday I accidentally hit her rear view mirror and it fell off the windshield. Apparently repairing it isn't that simple and she's going to make an insurance claim! I offered to pay for it but she refused.

[More:]
She wrote "Seriously do not worry! These things happen. It's totally okay." I think she is sincere but I will probably offer to pay for the deductible when I see her tomorrow.

Do you have any ideas for some sort of token I could give her to make up for this? For various reasons, I'd prefer something that doesn't have romantic overtones like flowers, and something with a dollar denomination seems right out since it won't cover the cost of the repair.
A gift would probably make things awkward. Covering your friend's deductible is enough.

She should not make an insurance claim if it just needs to be reglued. That's super cheap.

She said that it doesn't just need to be reglued, that a piece of the windshield glass broke off as well!

Maybe get her a certificate for a massage or a manicure with a card that says "Here's something to help you relax after having to talk to the insurance company" or something like that.

A fruit and cheese basket would also be nice. I looooooove getting those, no matter what the occasion is. They are more substantial and less romantic than flowers but are similarly deliverable.

a pair of fluffy dice :)

I replaced my windshield last summer, and it was still under my deductible. Guess that's what I get for being cheap and getting a $500 deductible.

On the other hand, my insurance covers small windshield cracks for free. Wonder if that repair falls on the same bucket.

Since youre paying for the deductable, something small & cute. Like a really nice foldable purse-mirror in her style. It would be funny and funny breaks akward tension.

# Hello Kitty purse mirror (scroll down)
# bedazzled Indian purse mirror (You can get these in any color in a shop here called Indiska, they're very cute)
# etched purse mirror
# True love forever tattoo style purse mirror

Just to show you that there are purse mirrors in every style out there. :)

Take her out for lunch or drinks. What a nice friend.

I'm with rmless2. Fruit and cheese baskets always work, even for no reason whatsoever.

She refused to accept a contribution to the deductible. Said her car was so old it was bound to happen one of these days anyway. Also: lactose intolerant so cheese basket is not a great idea although would be otherwise. :) I'm just going to drop it now, I've tried three times.
