woah!→[More:] I was wondering why Iowa was a twitter trend. Ossum!
Great news. But - OMG! - take note of what Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council says in the video. "It's another example of an activist court forcing same-sex marriage on an unwilling state".
So don't go to Iowa, straight people! You'll be forced into a same-sex marriage against your will!! The horror!
Got that right, essexjan - living in Iowa as I do, I was shocked to be woken up this morning, dragged to the courthouse by state troopers, and forcibly married to some guy by an activist judge. Terry says he's really quite nice and I'll get used to him, but I'm still writing my representative to complain.
In all seriousness, it is indeed ossum. Rather disappointing to learn which friends are upset by the decision, though.
Yeah, this is really a game-changer. It's incredible. But Nate Silver thinks we're reaching a point where more and more states are ready to vote in favor of gay marriage, if they're allowed to.
[My] model predicts that by 2012, almost half of the 50 states would vote against a marriage ban, including several states that had previously voted to ban it.
