Oh, yum. I'm sitting here having my first cup of AeroPress cappuccino. It finally arrived! The package looks as though the Hounds of Hell played fetch with it for a century or two, and the paddle (stirrer) was broken in half, but never mind - the coffee really is super numnumgood. Do you have an AeroPress? Any special tips? [More:]

I guess I'll try out an espresso grind, but I just used my regular coffee (though I only pay €2.75, not $25), and it is faboo. Thanks to essexjan, who mentioned it here and inspired me to finally order one.

I have one of those I use at work, taz. It's the greatest. I use an espresso grind, and add hot water to the resulting "espresso" to make a nice cup of coffee. No need to let it soak either, just stir it up, and press it out. Also, the filters are re-usable. I just rinse it off and let it dry to use the next day. I only use one filter for a four day work week.

In the thread where it was suggested you get an AeroPress, I recall clicking the link and going to the company website and being incredibly skeptical that this thing was any good, as the company that made it appeared to produce mostly flying discs! What a strange change of products...

Yay, Aeropress. Yes, I re-use the filters too. Taz, email the company and tell them the paddle was broken and they'll probably send you another one, they're really good like that. They recently sent me a new rubber seal for the plunger after mine, for reasons I couldn't ascertain, felt loose in the cylinder after about four years.

I find that the finer the grind, the more 'crema' you get on the coffee. I top my coffee up with hot water to make an Americano. It really is the smoothest coffee I've ever drunk.

I have some Blue Mountain beans (present from boo) which I'm really looking forward to having in the Aeropress.
