Three Point Wednesday Update I have become an office drone. I go in with the other office drones and my Blackberry and my iPod nano for 9am and leave with them at 5.[More:]

The link is my office droney outlook question.

I go to meetings and stuff almost every night. I am one of those people who is good at meetings.
Welcome to the Office Drone Club. One of the many things you will learn is how to look busy when you really aren't. Plus, we will need the TPS reports in the morning.

I am a blue collar factory grunt.

I my schedule is 4 days on, 4 off, and I go in at 5 AM with my metal lunch box.

I hate meetings. I'd rather be spending the time working. I'm not good at them. I can play along, but I don't take it seriously. To us worker grunts, meetings are what management has in order to justify their jobs.

1. I am slowly becoming a vegan, not replacing meat and such as I eat the last of it. Last night I made a big dish of my favorite chicken salad, with pineapple, walnuts and onion.

2. I should be starting weights today at therapy. I love doing weights.

3. I think I finally broke my initial fascination with the Sims. I can switch it off now after playing for just an hour. This place is a mess.

1. Working from home, I've finished my work, but have to eke out the ways in which I introduce it onto the office system (to which I'm remotely attached) so it looks as if I've been busy all day. I did start at 7am, so I've put in six hours already, with no break.

2. Dentist last evening was horrible - much scraping, jabbing at my sore gum and blood. The gum feels better today but, damn, it hurt last night.

3. TV dilemma tonight - football or Project Runway. I suspect I'll watch PR, flipping over during the breaks, and then watch the end of the game when PR is finished. I can't record/stay up, as I have to be up for work early tomorrow.

1. I went to the gym this morning at 430am. It was 72f outside and I had the music playing loud and my sunroof open enjoying the nice morning half asleep.

2. Had a good workout and returned to my car at 7am to find it was 55f outside and raining.

3. Now I get to go sit in my cubicle for 8 hours.

1. I've mentioned before how I love my job. But yeah, warm fuzzies for LSC. I love the fact that I can come in, run the queues, wait for the dude who comes in after me (staggered shifts, woo) and then I can sit and work on spreadsheets for 4 hours with no interruptions. We also do not do meetings and small chit-chat. We are all relatively simple people, which is helpful in minimizing any drama.

2. I've had two very productive days where I seem to have achieved 'flow'. I hope I can continue this into the weekend without it devolving into another one of my obsessive re-writing notecard weirdness things. (I wrote a lot more about it at LJ, for those who read it.)

3. Still no word on the condo or my LibSci application. Fucking indecisive bastards.

1. Hopefully signing up for swing lessons with my best partner.

2. didn't sleep well last night and feel dizzy today.

3. wrote a fantastic poem in like, ten seconds this morning using don't stop/first thought, best thought method.

1. Sigh, I wish that I had a cubicle. I'm in an "open-plan" office which means that I get a table in a corridor. I work for a design firm so it's a very stylish table in a very high-tech post-modern corridor but I get exactly zero privacy. But a job is a job is a paycheck.

2. Was at the Gym at 7:00 this morning. It's only two short blocks from home so there's not much excuse other than lazyness to not go.

3. Need to update the neighborhood website tonight to advertise the upcoming "Tea with Queen Victoria" event.

1. Looking at cute bento boxes because I feel like treating myself to something nice.

2. Started the kidling on solid food on Sunday. She has taken to it brilliantly. Now she lunges for the spoon and her whole body quivers in excitement when she is eating. Heh.

3. Husband gets home tonight! Yay!

1. My rat cage has been delivered to my mum's!

2. We're gonna meet tomorrow in Bellingham for lunch and for me to pick up the cage.

3. Spending way too much time in the bathroom today. Welcome to IBS. Ugh.

1. Itching (withering away, actually) to hear if I've been accepted to The Film School in April. Why they wait so long to decide is a mystery to me. I have my funds and vacation all in waiting.

2. I'm a month into my new ADD meds and I'm liking the results so far.

3. I need to update my screenwriting software as it won't install on Vista.

1. I'm jealous - I catch the 5.59am train to work to be there at 7.15am and, if I'm lucky, I catch the 5.53pm train home to be there in time to kiss the kids goodnight.

2. At least I'm not taking work home any more.

3. I used to share a "pod" (4-person cubicle), but I now have an office. It's nice to have some peace sometimes, but I do miss the easy conversation.

Wow, an actual 9-5 job? I didn't think that such things existed anymore. They pay you to eat lunch?

1. A friend who we haven't seen or spoken to since we moved from P-cola (back in'92) just found us on facebook yesterday. Whee! Yay technology!
2. Due to a coworker's wonky schedule at her other job, I have to work another Saturday BUT I get the next two days off and will only be working three days this pay period. They are ten hour days, but still-free time!
3. I finally bit the bullet and talked to my spin instructor who also does personal training. He's mapping me out a weight training routine which will involve me going into the area with the big weights (I call it The Testosterone Zone and have been avoiding it assiduously.) Time for me to put on a little muscle mass!

1. Got up at 5:30 this morning to enter my progress report grades for my students. Zausted. (Is 9pm too early to go to bed?)

2. Got two more grants for books from DonorsChoose.org. Yay! It's the only way I can get books these days. We started Elie Wiesel's Night today in one of my classes, and later this year we'll be reading Junot Diaz's The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao. I couldn't do it without the grants. They make such a difference.

3. Just getting over a bladder infection this week. Not sure it was one, but my brother-the-doctor was kind enough to call in a script for me anyway, just in case. Still having some belly pain, though, so I don't know. I hope it clears up soon. I dread going to the doctor. Don't feel up to any poking, so to speak.

1. Gave up Pepsi in favor of Awful Strong Coffee and it's making a difference in my bank account. I'da never figured!
2. I've been harassing SenJohnMcCain on Twitter just because.
3. Got a cold front coming through, so I put a box and a blanket over the irises. Crossing my fingers.
