YAY! KICKASS FILIPIINO MUSIC DIRECT FROM THE PHILIPPINES! →[More:]

Some friends of mine from Seattle went to the Philippines a few months back, and I made a special request of them to bring me back some of my favorite Kababayan singers.

When I lived in San Francisco, I would watch Ch. 28 and marinate in all the great Filipino television like Ober Na Bakod and the like. It was one of the ways I got fluent in Tagalog, and filipino music was the other. I used to go into Daly City for my musical fixes.

But now, now! I have the most amazing and lovely Kuh Ledesma CD and Regine Velasquez DVD! (Anyone into Filipino music will instantly realize how incredibly old-school that statement is.)

Anyone else in this hizzy like these two artists, or listens to Tagalog music? I will post some up for your delectation if so, or if you're curious.
