Yes, I am poaching funny photos from Metafilter comments. This one goes out to all the parents. [More:] It's titled, "Honey, Do You Know Why the Kids Are Being So Quiet?" from here

If this is actual paint... hoo boy! I really hope it's caulk instead. But it looks like paint.

We accidentally walked Sky through a puddle of gray paint one time, and I have to say that the effort and psychic pain of trying to get that off her paws was not even a little bit of a fun time.

HA! When I was a toddler I went down for a nap while my parents had friends over, and after a few hours my parents peeked in to find me fingerpainting the wall, the desk, the carpet, and myself with India ink (my bedroom doubled as my dad's study). They laugh about it now, but I think it was like when my best friend drove his car into our front door. Funnier after ten years or so.

it's funny because it's not me in that situation... yet... eeek.

i'm glad the parents found humor in the situations, else why take the pictures?

unless it was for later evidence.

It's for evidence, and girlfriends/boyfriends later on. Then when they send pics of their kids stuck in the mud...

My grandmother had a picture of my father taken at a portrait studio in the late 1940's. it was big as life, about 11"x14", and he had dirt all over his shirt and shorts. His face was clean, I suspect, due to airbrushing.

I have several sets of the aftermath of different things. My favorite is the set of Polaroids the kids took of each other and themselves when they rigged the chair, the TV stand, and the dining table to get to the Polaroid camera.

I didn't bother taking pictures of this last time. I already have a set of them mixing all the food coloring together to make black, and handprints on the walls, the doors, each other, the resulting bathwater, etc. It gets kind of old after a while.

One adventure led to Older Boy's first writing assignment: "I will not break eggs on the floor."
